Out of Hours Care

If you have a medical problem outside our office hours, call the message service at 1-866-295-4436 (toll-free). The operator will contact the on call physician for you. Because this is an emergency service, please use this service for acute medical problems and not for routine calls such as prescription refills, scheduling or referrals. For routine calls please take advantage of our voice mail that is available at all hours 607-277-0969.

On Call Rotation

This medical office shares an on call rotation with three other physicians who are attending physicians at the Cayuga Medical Center to allow us to have evenings and weekends off. At the end of each day, Dr. Law personally speaks with whomever is on call for the evening to discuss any cases which are in the hospital. This small rotation group of first rate physicians makes it possible to maintain the highest standards of patient care while our patients are in the hospital. The following physicians are members of this rotation group:

• Dr. Ann Costello -- Board certified in internal medicine and geriatric medicine
• Dr. John Costello -- Board certified in internal medicine
• Dr. Muhammad Wattoo -- Board certified in internal medicine

Emergencies

If you have an acute medical emergency you think will require hospital care, go to the Cayuga Medical Center Emergency Room.

If you need to see a physician out of hours and feel your situation cannot wait until the next scheduled office hours, you can go to the Emergency Room at Cayuga Medical Center on Route 96 or the Cayuga Medical Center’s Convenient Care Center, on Warren Road (in Northeast Ithaca). Established patients in this practice who present themselves to the emergency room and who are in need to admission to the hospital will be admitted by whomever is on call in the above listed rotation group of three physicians.
