Cynthia Schnedeker, NP
Cynthia Hart Schnedeker joined IthacaMed in August 2007. She received her Masters in Community Health as a Primary Care Nurse Practitioner from Binghamton University in May 2007 and a BS in Nursing in 2002. She worked as a nurse in the Intensive Care Unit at Robert Packer Hospital specializing in cardiac care and as an emergency department nurse at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Binghamton. Cynthia grew up in Ithaca and graduated from Cornell, majoring in Human Development and Family Studies. Her father was an Ophthalmologist and his philosophy and commitment to patient education and care along with the inspiration of area Nurse Practitioners led her to return to school to become a Nurse Practitioner (NP). As an NP and part of the health care team at IthacaMed, she diagnoses, treats and manages acute and chronic conditions such as diabetes, and high blood pressure. She is committed to incorporating patient education including health promotion, illness process and prevention, as an integral part of the treatment plan. Cynthia is married with three grown children. She enjoys the many outdoor activities Ithaca has to offer including playing soccer, running and cycling. |
