Kathy Williams, N.P.

Kathy Williams

Kathy Williams was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. When she was 3, her family moved to Southern Connecticut, where she grew up. She arrived in Ithaca in 1976 to attend Cornell. She received her BS in Animal Sciences (at the time she was interested in Veterinary Science). She stayed in Ithaca because of it's uniqueness and she felt this area was a wonderful place to raise children. Soon after graduation she married and started a family. Her aspirations turned to nursing and she attended TC3 Nursing School. She received her RN degree in 1986 and worked in various settings including the hospital, office and home care. She received her BSN and most recently her MSN and Adult Nurse Practitioner from Syracuse University.

During her 15 years of nursing she has integrated her nursing experiences into her philosophy as a Nurse Practitioner. Her goal is to provide accessible, high quality spiritual, emotional and physical care to the patient and the family in the office or home setting. She has worked closely with the senior population in the acute care setting and in the homes. Her inclination is to continue home visitations with a community focus. Not only does this provide health care services to those who may find it difficult to appear for an appointment, but it also provides an avenue in which the health care provider can experience the person's home environment, including the community in which they live. This methodology of health care advocates person-centered care and health promotion, which is a core focus of mine as a Nurse Practitioner. I feel honored to be working in this practice and to be given the opportunity to work collaboratively in a climate that promotes prevention, person-centered health, and community health.
